About this directory
What this directory is
Austin Apartment Reviews Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource covering 401 apartment complex businesses across Greater Austin. It exists for renters trying to sort through a market that’s crowded with paid listings, sponsored blog posts, and reviews that have been quietly filtered before they ever reach the public. If you’re comparing properties in Round Rock, Cedar Park, South Austin, or anywhere in between, this site is built to give you a straight, data-backed read on how each community actually performs for residents.
We also generate enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee for doing so. That referral relationship is separate from how properties are ranked, and it’s disclosed again on the quote page where it applies.
How listings get built
Every listing starts with public business data: address, unit types, amenities, contact details, and similar facts about the property. We layer that with a synthesis of recent Google reviews, meaning we read and summarize the sentiment and recurring themes renters mention, rather than copying review text onto our pages. If you want the original source reviews, we link straight out to the property’s Google listing so you can read them yourself.
Data gets refreshed monthly across the directory, and each listing carries a “last verified” stamp so you can see exactly when it was last checked, not just assume it’s current.
How rankings work
Rankings are earned. They come from a published rubric applied consistently to the data and review sentiment we collect, and nothing else moves a score. You can see exactly how that scoring works on our methodology page. A property’s management team can request corrections to factual details, like a wrong unit count, an outdated phone number, or an amenity that’s since changed. What they cannot do is edit their own score, sentiment summary, or position in the rankings. That firewall is the entire point of the directory.
Sponsorship, when it appears
Some pages may include sponsored placements. These are always labeled “Sponsored,” displayed separately from the earned rankings, and never blended into or allowed to change a property’s actual rank. We don’t sell placement in the rankings themselves, full stop.
Who’s behind it
This directory is published by AustinApartmentReviews.com. It was built by Ross Quade, a licensed Texas REALTOR and U.S. Army veteran who has spent years working inside Austin’s apartment market and knows many of these communities and their management teams directly. Ross serves as managing editor, maintaining the rubric, overseeing how review sentiment is synthesized, and keeping the rankings honest as new data comes in each month.

FAQ
- Does this site sell higher rankings to apartment communities?
- No. Rankings are earned from a published rubric applied to public data and review sentiment. Sponsored placements, when present, are labeled separately and never change a property's earned rank.
- Can an apartment community edit its own review sentiment or score?
- No. Management teams can correct factual details like address or amenities, but the score, sentiment summary, and ranking position are set independently and cannot be edited by the listed business.
- Where do the reviews come from?
- We synthesize recent Google reviews to identify themes and sentiment, and we link out to the property's Google listing so you can read the original reviews yourself. We do not republish review text.
- How often is the directory updated?
- Data is refreshed monthly across all 401 listings, and each listing shows a last verified date so you can see when it was last checked.
- What happens if I ask to be matched with a property or provider?
- Your enquiry is passed to providers relevant to your request, and the site may receive a referral fee for that match. This never affects how properties are scored or ranked.
